# AWS S3

> Connect AWS S3 to Steerco.

Steerco syncs files from an S3 bucket from AWS S3 into your records.

## What you need

* An AWS account that can create IAM users.
* The name of the S3 bucket that holds your files.

## Get your credentials in AWS

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create a user">
    In the IAM console, create a user for Steerco.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Give the user read access">
    Give the user permission to list your bucket and read its files.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create an access key">
    On the user's **Security credentials** tab, click **Create access key**. Choose **Other**, then create the key.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Copy the keys">
    Copy the access key ID and the secret access key. AWS shows the secret only once.

## Connect AWS S3 in Steerco

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your integrations">
    Go to **Settings** > **Integrations**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose AWS S3">
    In the **Connectors** section, click **Add connector**. If the workspace already has connectors, the button reads **Add**. In the **Connect integration** dialog, click the **AWS S3** tile.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your credentials">
    Enter **AWS Access Key Id**, **AWS Secret Access Key**, and **Bucket Name**. To read only one folder, enter its path in **Bucket Path Prefix**. Click **Connect your data**.

When the connection works, Steerco shows **Successfully Connected**.
