After you connect a sync integration, choose what to sync and where each field goes in Steerco.

Open the sync settings

1

Open the connector

Click Settings, then Integrations. Click the connector’s card, click Manage, then click Manage sync settings.
2

Open the mapping

Click the Configure Mapping tab. It has three steps: Tables, Mapping, and Advanced.
Some connectors offer a recommended setup. If you see Default Mapping Available, click Apply Default Mapping to use it. To choose everything yourself, click Set up manually. To change a default mapping later, click Customize Mapping.

Choose tables

1

Open the Tables step

Click Tables. The Available Tables list shows every table Steerco found in the tool.
2

Select tables

Select the tables you want, then click the right arrow to move them to Selected Tables.
3

Save

Click Save in the bar at the bottom of the page.
If a table or field is missing, click Refresh Available Fields to look for it again.

Map fields to Steerco records

1

Pick a record type

Click Mapping. In the left list, click a record type under Objects or Activities.
2

Add a table

Click Add table, then choose the tool’s table that holds those records.
3

Map each field

For each Steerco field, choose the tool’s field in the Source field column. Fill in every field under Required.
4

Save

Click Save in the bar at the bottom of the page.
To see real values while you map, run Source samples. To sync a table that has no matching record type, click Custom Objects in the left list and create a custom object. The Advanced step is optional. Use it to add Transforms and Filters to the synced data.

Choose how a sync runs

Steerco offers these sync methods and modes:
  • Incremental Sync: Pulls only the records that changed since the last sync. Use it for routine syncs.
  • Full Sync: Pulls every record again from the start. Use it after you change the mapping, or to repair missing data.
  • Preview mode: Sends later syncs to a preview database instead of your workspace. Turn it on to check the data before it reaches your records.
To run either sync method, see Schedule syncs. To turn on Preview mode, open the more actions menu on the manage page and switch it on. You can’t change it while a sync runs. When you create a custom object, choose its Sync Strategy. You can’t change it later.
  • Full Replace: Replaces all synced data on each sync. Pick it when the source has no unique ID.
  • Append Only: Adds records and never updates them. Pick it for event or log data.
  • Upsert: Updates records that match by ID and adds the rest. Pick it when each source row has a unique ID.

Review matched users and accounts

After a sync brings in users or accounts, the Review Mapping tab appears. Use it to check and correct how the tool’s users and accounts match their Steerco counterparts.
